According to one study, lycopene can reduce the symptoms of menopause and also tone the vascular wall. Watermelon also contains the amino acid citrulline. They increase the levels of nitric oxide in the blood. It has a vasodilating effect and thus lowers blood pressure. Watermelon also contains vitamins A, B6, C, magnesium and potassium, which also have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.
