In this article, learn more about How To Cook 6 Common Mistakes When Cooking Rice - Recipe. Learn how to cook "6 common mistakes when cooking rice". Delicious recipe..
Rice is one of the most preferred garnishes, it is prepared quickly and easily. It is a problem when you are not familiar with the most common mistakes in the preparation of rice and accordingly encounter obstacles during cooking. So see 6 of them:
1. Soak and rinse the rice
In fact, whether to rinse or soak the rice is not as big a mistake as the ones below. When soaked, the rice becomes softer, and when rinsed, in addition to starch, you wash away much of its nutritional value. Whatever you choose, be consistent in your decision.
2. Use a tasteless liquid for cooking
The salt-free and tasteless liquid is the biggest mistake. Ideally, you should cook the rice in broth, but if this is not possible, be sure to salt the water. Use 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of salt for every liter and a half of water (the fat will prevent the rice grains from sticking together later).
3. Do not follow the recipe
This includes the instructions on the package!
Perfectly cooked rice is prepared for a certain time, in a certain amount of liquid, which should not boil. If the liquid boils too much, it will increase its evaporation, which in turn will change the ratio of water and rice you have. The reason rice cookers work so well is that the producers have measured the exact amount of liquid, rice and cooking temperature. Therefore, reduce the heat to simmer and follow the specified ratio.
If you cook brown rice you will need more water and longer cooking time.
The solution is to experiment to learn the most accurate temperature for cooking rice. And when you are satisfied with the result, remember to what degree on the stove you have prepared it and also in which dish.
4. Boil the rice at a high temperature
As already mentioned in point 3, the cooking temperature of the rice should be low and it should simmer very slightly. Not only will the water evaporate faster at high temperatures, but the texture of the rice will change and they will become more sticky. Snoring occurs at a temperature of about 90-100 degrees, and very light bubbles form on the surface of the liquid, in contrast to strong boiling. In many cases, this is achieved by increasing the temperature to boiling, then reducing the temperature.
5. Cook without a lid
Opening the pot to check how far the rice has come or how much water is left in the pot can be well-intentioned, but also unproductive. This can tempt you to remove the lid or stir the rice, which can be catastrophic and ruin the whole structure of the rice.
Stirring the rice while it is cooking is the biggest mistake you can make. Never remove the lid of the container once you have determined how much water you need, you will never have to peek under the lid again. When the allotted time has elapsed, turn off the hob and proceed with the preparation of your recipe.
6. Do not use the right utensils for fluffy rice
The final step in cooking the rice is to stir it, after turning off the stove, this way air will enter it and it will become fluffy. It is a mistake to mix it with a wooden spoon, because you can crush it. So use a fork to scatter all the grains and get fluffy rice.
