Required products :

  • 1 cup sliced ​​almonds
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 slices of bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter and oil

Method of preparation :

Bake the almonds for 5-10 minutes until golden.

Beat the eggs with the milk, flour, salt, baking powder, almond and vanilla extracts. Dip the bread in the mixture for about a minute, then arrange in a pan. Refrigerate for 1 hour to absorb the liquid well.

Heat the oil and butter. Roll the slices on one side in almonds, pressing them to stick well to the bread.

Fry until golden on both sides, starting with the almonds first to make sure they stay on the bread.

Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar or jam if desired.
