"Healthy" is your label - have you always eaten that way?

For me, it is "healthy" to live in harmony with ourselves. It is healthy to find a balance between proper nutrition, physical activity and rest. It is healthy to be able to appreciate the good things that happen to us and reduce the stress in our daily lives. I think a person wastes the most time answering the question of what makes him happy. Then life is arranged like a puzzle and everything finds its right place.
I have not always considered how I eat. In the beginning, when I started exercising, I was sure that it was temporary, that after the pain subsided I would return to my calmer daily life. Gradually this changed because I felt better and better, I started to do more complex exercises, I felt stronger and I believed that I could do more. I found time for sports, collected all the recipes I prepared on my Facebook page and shared my progress. The interest that the venture aroused inspired me to publish a recipe book. I started to get involved in various initiatives in support of healthy living. As I understand it. And I keep finding time for everything. Because it makes me happy.

Does a healthy diet mean that we should exclude certain food groups, such as fats or carbohydrates? How do you interpret healthy eating and what benefits have you found for yourself?

In my opinion, a complete, tasty and balanced diet is healthy. I am not a supporter of extremes, so I am of the opinion that there is no group that should be excluded. From personal experience, a varied and healthy diet improves our quality of life: we have more energy, more strength and better tone, we feel happier and in a good mood. Healthy eating means eating seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, using products typical of our country, such as beans, lentils, millet, etc., eating healthy fats, not being afraid of carbohydrates.

A varied diet is very important, where do you get your inspiration from, is it difficult to come up with healthy and complete recipes?

For me, this type of eating is a natural part of my daily routine. It is not difficult for me, because I am used to replacing and combining products so that it is tasty and varied. I try to eat more fruits and vegetables, home-cooked food, my daily menu to include all food groups. I do not follow strict diets. In recent years, I have tried different approaches to both training and nutrition. In time, I found that the best results come when the thought is calm. I am of the opinion that if we want to be in good shape in the long run, we cannot be in constant ban and deprivation. Food is not fuel. It is a pleasure. This makes me continue to share my recipes for three years now. I am inspired by the desire to show that there is always a way to achieve our goals when we are motivated to do something for ourselves.

The important thing I want to pay special attention to is planning. On your page we see that you share photos with 2-3 boxes of food that you prepare for your daily life. Tell us more about meal planning, is it as difficult as it seems?

Planning is no more complicated than that of any housewife. I buy fruits and vegetables every day. I try to eat more fresh salads. I often prepare meat and carbohydrate side dishes for a few days ahead, which saves time and does not affect the taste. At FIT Sweets by Lori I most often share three of my meals for the day that I bring with me to work. Everything is carefully arranged in one of the minimum of three bags with which I move, as if I will be away from home for a long time. I eat six times a day and train actively - 6-7 times a week. I am not a fan of supplements and I do not take them. I am recovering completely thanks to my balanced diet and the time I spend resting. And so every day for the last three years. It's not easy, but it's worth the effort.

Let's see the practical side - how long does it take you to prepare food for the next day, how does your day go to be able to do everything?

Every day my day starts at 5 o'clock. I often prepare food for the day early in the morning. It takes me about 30-40 minutes. Sometimes even less. I have arranged my tasks for the day in such a way that I have enough time for everything that excites me. Often not as much as I want to, but I always find time for the things that are important to me. Cooking is part of them because it gives me pleasure. I go to sports before work, then behind the desk for 8-9 hours, I shop for the next day, I finish the housework, I help with my daughter's housework, we play and after she falls asleep, I start working on the blog. I am currently writing my second book (traditionally late in the evening), participating in various projects, supporting initiatives.
I believe that when we understand what makes us happy, it is a matter of good organization to find time for everything. The rest is always arranged when a heart is inserted.

What does the perfect portion contain?

The perfect portion is different for everyone. It must be tailored to his tastes. For me, the perfect portion is the one prepared by my mother. Contains homemade products prepared with love and care, something simple but delicious and therefore special.

What advice would you give to people who are now trying to change their lifestyle and diet? What do you wish someone had told you when you were on the path to health?

When I started my change, I wanted someone to tell me that it takes time to keep the desire and motivation I had in the beginning. In my opinion, people refuse to continue precisely when the results are slow. I wanted to have more confidence in myself and my own senses.
Over time, I realized that appearance was the last thing that changed. Because change is a path we walk towards ourselves, as a form of self-knowledge. A few pounds in plus or minus will not make us look different and like each other more. It will be done by the will we have shown when we have achieved something to be proud of. Appearance changes when we calm the soul. This is, in my opinion, the most important condition for a healthy lifestyle.

Lori also shared with us her favorite recipe for a delicious cake.
