How To Cook Apple Baklava With Honey, Walnuts And Cinnamon - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Apple baklava with honey, walnuts and cinnamon". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 2 tea cups walnuts (can be replaced with hazelnuts or almonds)
  • 1 large apple
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 100 grams of white sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • grated ginger, nutmeg, cloves
  • 1 packet of dough rolled crusts
  • oil

Method of preparation :

Bake the walnuts in the oven (for 5 - 10 minutes at 190 degrees).

Wash the apple, remove the core and cut into as thin circles as possible. In a blender, grind the walnuts together with the cinnamon and brown sugar.

Grease a suitable dish with oil and arrange 4 crusts, smearing each with grease. Spread 1/4 of the sweet walnut mixture on the last one, then half of the apple rings and again a walnut layer.

The arrangement further: 3-4 sheets of dough (greased with oil), walnuts, apples, walnuts and peel again. Followed by a layer of walnuts and a few more sheets of dough.

When you have finished "assembling" the baklava, pour plenty of melted butter. On top you can arrange whole walnuts and cut into squares or diamonds with a sharp knife.

Bake in the oven at a temperature of 170 - 180 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the syrup. To do this, mix in a small saucepan the water, honey, white sugar, cinnamon stick and other spices. Put the pan on medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. When this happens, reduce the heat, let the syrup cook for 5 minutes, stirring often. Then add the lemon juice and boil the liquid for another 5 minutes, remove the cinnamon stick and remove the pan from the heat.

Remove the finished baklava from the oven and pour over the cooled syrup. When the juicy delicacy cools down, you can serve.

Enjoy your meal!
