Required products :

For swamps :

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons walnuts, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tea cups of apples, peeled and cut into small cubes

For cream :

  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tea cup of fresh milk

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the walnuts in a pan for about 6-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter with the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Add the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until mixed.
  • Add the apple cubes and 1 tea cup of the walnuts and stir briefly enough to distribute in the dough.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased form with approximate dimensions of 33/23 centimeters.
  • Bake the marshmallows in a preheated 180 degree oven for 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out of the cake clean. Allow to cool completely.
  • Meanwhile, make the cream by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Wait about 6-8 minutes until it acquires a golden brown color, pour into a small bowl, cover and refrigerate to set for about 1 hour.
  • Beat the butter until fluffy and start adding the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla to form a smooth cream.
  • Transfer the marshmallows to a tray of suitable size and spread the butter cream on top.
  • Cut the cake, garnish the pieces with the remaining walnuts and serve.
