Required products :

  • 180 grams of butter
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 360 grams of flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 large apples

For cream:

  • 350 milliliters of fresh milk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons starch
  • 10 grams of vanilla sugar

Method of preparation :

Sift the flour, add a pinch of salt and baking powder. Cut the cooled butter into cubes and grind it with the dry mixture to obtain crumbs. Add sugar, cream and egg to them. Knead the dough, make it into a ball and put it in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

When cool, divide it into 2 parts, one of which should be 1/3 of the total amount (respectively, the second should represent 2/3 of the dough).

Roll out most of it according to the shape you are going to use (in this case a round one with a diameter of 24 cm is used). Put the dough in it and make boards. Pierce with a fork in several places and place in the refrigerator while you prepare the cream.

The cream.

In a frying pan, mix the egg with both sugar and starch, pour in the milk and place on the hob. Boil the mixture until thickened, stirring constantly.

Peel the apples, cut them into large pieces and spread on the dough (you can sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired). Drizzle them with hot cream.

Roll out the rest of the dough, cut into wide strips (about 2 cm) and arrange them on the cream in the form of a grid.

Bake the bread in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden (about 45-50) minutes.

You can sprinkle the finished pie with powdered sugar, and to make it look even more seductive, smear the surface with apricot jam.
