Using a wooden spoon, mix all the spices and baking powder to the flour (do not add brown sugar).
Using a mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and molasses and stir to combine completely. Reduce the speed of the mixer and start adding the flour and spices. Add the chocolate and mix well with a spatula.
Take some of the dough and form balls, which you arrange in the trays at a distance from each other (leave at least 3-4 centimeters between each ball, they will spread during baking).
Bake them for about 10-12 minutes, leave to cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the pan so that they do not become rancid.
Cool on a wire rack and serve with a glass of hot milk.
