How To Cook Baked Meatballs With Mozzarella And Pesto - Recipe

Required products :

  • 500 grams of minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 tea cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon pesto + more to serve
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped in bulk
  • oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 red onion
  • 700 milliliters of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup grated ripe mozzarella
  • basil leaves for serving

Method of preparation :

Add the egg, crumbs, pesto and half of the chopped garlic and half of the oregano leaves to the minced meat. Knead and shape into round meatballs.

Fry them for 6-7 minutes until browned on all sides and transfer to a plate.

In a pan, fry the remaining garlic and onion until soft. Add the tomato paste, season and leave

Return the meatballs to the pan, sprinkle with the mozzarella and the remaining oregano leaves. Bake at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Remove the dish from the oven, pour pesto and sprinkle with basil leaves.
