Learn how to cook "Baklava with almonds, cinnamon and cloves". Delicious recipe.

Necessary products

For the dough:

  • 3.5 teaspoons flour
  • 500 grams of butter
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon water

For the stuffing:

  • 5 tea cups peeled almonds (can be replaced with other nuts)
  • 1.5 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 250 grams of butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves

For syrup:

  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon water
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Method of preparation :

Start by kneading the dough. Sift the flour, add to it 1 tablespoon of butter, salt, water and knead the dough so that it does not stick to the hands and the dish. Shape it into a ball, cover with a damp cloth and refrigerate for half an hour. Then roll out in a thin layer, grease in the middle with oil, fold in four, roll out again, fold in 3 and refrigerate for 20 minutes. This procedure should be done 3-4 times in a row, each time storing the dough in the refrigerator. Then divide into small pieces, which roll out thinly. The more layers the baklava has, the tastier it will be.

It's time for the stuffing. Crush the almonds and mix them with the cinnamon and cloves.

Grease a pan with oil, arrange 4 layers of dough, which also spread. On the fourth put the stuffing, followed by dough, stuffing, etc. Finish again with 4 layers of dough, which you spread with oil.

Cut the baklava into large diamonds and pour over the remaining melted butter.

Put the pan in a preheated oven at a moderate temperature for 40 - 45 minutes.

While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup. To do this, pour the sugar into a saucepan, pour half a glass of water, honey, vanilla, lemon juice and place on the stove. Stir for 5 minutes, not allowing the liquid to boil. Then turn off the hob and remove the foam that has formed.

Remove the finished baklava from the oven, pour the syrup over it and leave for 2-3 hours to soak.

Enjoy your meal!
