How To Cook Baklava With Cream Cheese And Honey Syrup - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Baklava with cream cheese and honey syrup". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 16 sheets of baklava crust
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

For the stuffing:

  • 220 grams of cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 tea cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed pistachios

For syrup:

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pinch of salt

Method of preparation :

Combine cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, sour cream (you can also use full-fat yogurt), flour and salt. Mix with a mixer to obtain a creamy and fluffy mixture.

Take two trays with a diameter of 10 centimeters. Put 8 sheets of baklava crust in each of them, smearing each with oil before putting the next one. Let the edges protrude beyond the tray.

Put the cream cheese filling in the center and sprinkle with pistachios on top. Close the edges of the crusts to cover the filling. Don't worry about the shape. Lightly grease with oil. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 170 degrees, then cover the two pans with aluminum foil and continue baking for another 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the syrup. Put the sugar, water, salt, honey, lemon juice in a saucepan and heat to dissolve the sugar. Wait for the liquid to thicken and become a syrup.

Cool the finished baklava briefly (until you manage to touch it without burning unbearably) and pour over the warm syrup. Allow to absorb the liquid.
