Required products :

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 900 grams of beef, cut into pieces the size of 2-3 centimeters
  • 2 tea cups onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tea cups carrots, cut into slices
  • 4 cloves garlic, pressed or grated
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry sage
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 4 teaspoons beef broth
  • 450 grams of canned beans, drained

Method of preparation :

  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the veal and stir to seal on all sides. If necessary, work in batches.
  • Transfer the bites to a large bowl and add the second tablespoon of oil to the pan.
  • Stew onions, carrots and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  • Return the meat to the pan and add the water, salt, pepper, mint, sage, bay leaves, broth and beans.
  • Stir and simmer the stew for 1.5-2 hours or until the beef is fully cooked.
  • Remove the bay leaves, pour into bowls and serve.
