Required products :

  • 1 large head of red beet or two small
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 100 grams of walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil / olive oil
  • left
  • dill, celery or parsley if desired

Method of preparation :

Boil the beets in salted water for 20-25 minutes. Then put it in cold water and let it stand for half an hour or until it cools completely. You can also steam or bake in the oven.

Then peel the vegetables, wash them, cut into pieces and grate finely in a deep bowl.

Lightly dry the walnuts for 10-15 minutes in the oven or pan (stir in the meantime). Cut or break them, then put in a plastic bag and crush.

Peel the garlic cloves and press them, replacing them with garlic powder or garlic oil. It is important to feel a touch of garlic in the finished salad, and how you will achieve this is a matter of choice.

Pour the garlic and walnuts over the beets, add salt (you can also sprinkle with ground black pepper, if you prefer), stir

In case you decide to add dill, celery or parsley, now is the time to do so.

Season with vegetable oil (you could use mayonnaise) and mix all ingredients.

Wait for the salad to stand for about 20 minutes so that the beets absorb the garlic aroma well, and then serve it chilled.

Enjoy your meal!
