Required products :

  • 4 eggs
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100 grams of dark chocolate, grated or finely chopped
  • 250 grams of softened butter
  • 50 grams of powdered sugar
  • 300 milliliters of freshly prepared espresso
  • 280 grams of ordinary biscuits

For sprinkling :

  • cocoa
  • grated chocolate

Method of preparation :

 

  • Beat the eggs with the sugar in a heat-resistant bowl.
  • Add the vanilla extract and dark chocolate and heat on a water bath, stirring constantly for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  • Meanwhile, beat the butter with the powdered sugar for 5 minutes until fluffy cream.
  • Add it to the chocolate mixture, stir, cover and refrigerate.
  • Cover a rectangular loaf pan with parchment paper and start assembling the cake.
  • Quickly dip the biscuits in the freshly prepared espresso and arrange 6 of them on the bottom. 
  • Spread with chocolate cream, keeping in mind that the thickness should not exceed 5 millimeters.
  • Repeat with the remaining biscuits and cream. Spread the cake on the sides as well.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours, preferably overnight.
  • Sprinkle the biscuit cake with cocoa and grated chocolate, cut and serve.
