What makes these biscuits unique is the aroma of cardamom. Although strong, it is not intrusive, reminiscent of Christmas and suitable for any drink, so whether you serve sweets with coffee, tea or cocoa depends only on your preferences. The spice and nuts are typical of the Middle East, whose cuisine, rich in herbs and aromas, conquers the world.

Required products :

  • 115 grams of oil at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons fresh milk or cream
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup crushed pistachios

Method of preparation :

Beat the butter and sugar with a mixer until a homogeneous mixture resembling cream is obtained. Add the vanilla and milk.

In another bowl, sift the flour together with the cardamom and salt.

Combine the two mixtures and add half of the pistachios.

Form a ball of dough, which you wrap in cling film. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

When you are ready to prepare the cookies, turn on the oven to preheat to 175 degrees.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out round cookies.

Put the remaining nuts in a bowl. Carefully roll the edges of the biscuits in the mixture so that the pieces of pistachio stick to the edges of the cookies.

Arrange them in a tray lined with paper.

Bake the biscuits for about 20-22 minutes, until lightly browned at the edges.

Once baked, allow them to cool and harden, then separate from the pan.

Serve the delicious cardamom biscuits immediately!
