Necessary products:

 

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 500 grams of minced meat
  • 2-3 soft tomatoes
  • 1 carrot, peeled
  • 1 onion
  • 100 grams of tomato puree
  • a pinch of sugar
  • salt, black pepper, paprika
  • 3-4 fresh basil leaves
  • 1-2 fresh oregano leaves
  • 200 grams of grated mozzarella
  • oil or olive oil for frying
  • fresh parsley for sprinkling

 

Method of preparation:


Heat olive oil in a saucepan and fry finely chopped onions, grated carrots and tomatoes. Season with a pinch of sugar, salt, black and red pepper. Add and crush the minced meat, add the tomato puree, finely chopped basil and oregano.

Stir and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into circles. Cover the bottom of the pan with a row of potatoes. Using a ladle, scoop out the tomato mixture and spread over them. Continue the order until the products are exhausted.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Before removing the dish from the oven, sprinkle with mozzarella and bake for another 4-5 minutes. Cool, cut and serve. Optionally, garnish the dish with yogurt or sour cream.
