Required products :

  • 200 grams of old bread, cut into cubes
  • 200 milliliters of fresh milk, slightly warmed
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams of nettle leaves
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 40 grams of grated cheese
  • 20 grams of butter
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • a pinch of nutmeg
  • a pinch of lemon peel
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

For frying :

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • butter

For sprinkling :

  • grated parmesan
  • green onion

Method of preparation :

 

  • Soak the bread cubes in a large bowl with the warmed milk. Leave them to stand for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, finely chop the garlic and onion.
  • Wash the nettle leaves well, drain and cut into large pieces.
  • Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and saute the onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the nettles and cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the bread and sprinkle with spices.
  • Add the flour, cheese and eggs and mix well. Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly, moisten your hands and form 6 balls.
  • Dip each of them in an egg so that it is evenly covered.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the meatballs until golden brown, turning them periodically.
  • Serve them warm, sprinkled with green onions and grated Parmesan cheese and garnished with a green salad of your choice.
