Learn how to cook "Bread with cheddar and hot peppers, baked in a cast iron pan". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 3 1/2 teaspoons flour + more for kneading
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons grated red cheddar
  • 3 hot jalapeno peppers (one cut into circles, the other two into small pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method of preparation :

In a large bowl, mix the flour with 2 teaspoons of cheddar cheese, add the finely chopped peppers and salt. Stir well.

Put the water in another bowl and dissolve the yeast in it. Pour the flour over the yeast and stir with a silicone spatula until the dough starts to stick.

Using a spatula, transfer the dough from the edges of the bowl to the center until a ball is obtained - about 7-8 times. Cover with kitchen paper and leave to rise in the heat for 60 minutes.

Again with the spatula, knead the dough 8 more times in the same way. Cover and let rest again for 30 minutes.

Place a cast iron saucepan in the oven along with the lid, preheat to 230 degrees for 30 minutes.

Sprinkle flour on the kitchen counter as well as your hands. Carefully pour the dough on the prepared surface and knead, again transferring the outer sides to the center.

Place the dough with the folded sides down on kitchen paper.

Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with the remaining umbrella. With a knife make a cross in the middle of the bread, arrange on the four resulting "slices" of pepper, which is cut into circles. Using paper, transfer to a preheated saucepan. Let the sides of the paper come up, so it will be easier for you to take out the bread later.

Bake for 30 minutes under a lid and another 20 after removing it to acquire a golden crust.

Carefully remove the bread from the pan and remove the parchment paper. Allow to cool for 1 hour, after which you can cut.
