Necessary products

For the dough:

600 grams of flour

1 tablespoon dry yeast

2 eggs

200 grams of yogurt

50 milliliters of fresh milk

75 grams of butter

3 tablespoons sugar

0.5 teaspoon salt

For the stuffing:

pitted cherries (about 4 cherries for 1 loaf)

sugar to taste

1 tablespoon starch

For rolling:

50 - 60 grams of butter (melted)

100 grams of walnuts (finely ground)

0.5 teaspoon sugar

two baking tins

Method of preparation:

Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk, melt the butter. Beat the eggs with the sugar in a large bowl, add the yoghurt, melted butter and yeast. Stir.

Sift the flour, add the salt, then the liquid ingredients and knead a pliable dough. Knead for 5 - 7 minutes.

Grease the bowl with oil and put the dough in it, close the bowl with a lid or cover with a towel and leave to rise for 1 - 1.5 hours. The volume should be increased 3 times. Stir again and leave for another half - an hour. Divide the dough into 14 parts.

Make the filling by mixing the cherries with the sugar and starch. In a small bowl pour the melted butter, in another bowl mix the walnuts with the sugar (do not put all the walnuts at once, add gradually).

Shape each piece of dough into a pancake, in the middle of which you put the cherry filling, pinch the edges and make a round loaf. Then dip in the melted butter and roll in the walnut mixture. Arrange them in a suitable form, cover with a towel and leave for 20 minutes.

Bake in a preheated oven for 35 - 40 minutes. Cover the finished cakes with a towel and let them "rest" for 5 - 10 minutes.

Enjoy your meal!
