  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 425-450 milliliters of warm water
  • 350 grams of dried figs, chopped

Method of preparation :

Mix the flour, black pepper, salt and yeast with olive oil and enough warm water to form a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Put it in a greased bowl and leave in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

Knead the dough again after doubling its size by adding the dried figs. Give an oval shape and place in a pan covered with a lightly floured sheet of baking paper. Make incisions on the top of the dough and sprinkle with a little flour. Leave to rise uncovered for 10-15 minutes in a warm room until slightly swollen.

Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes or until done, then cool, cut into slices and serve.
