Necessary products

For the dough:

  • 700 g flour
  • 1.5 tsp dry yeast
  • 150 ml of fresh milk
  • 90 g of sugar
  • 90 g of melted and cooled butter
  • 3 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp lemon or orange peel
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp Sol
  • egg and a few drops of ice water to spread on top
  • poppy for sprinkling

For the stuffing:

  • 200 g of plum jam
  • 3 tablespoons ground walnuts

 

Method of preparation:

Mix the yeast with a little milk and 1 teaspoon of sugar, leave for 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and knead a pliable dough. Knead it for 10 minutes. Then put it in a bowl and let rise for 2 - 2.5 hours in a warm place. Divide the finished dough into 3 parts. Form buns, in each of them put the stuffing prepared from marmalade and walnuts. Make balls of dough, arrange them in a baking dish and leave for 30 minutes to rise. Then spread with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake at 180 degrees in a well-heated oven for 25-30 minutes.

 

If you prefer, you may not use jam. The cakes are very tasty and without filling. Or put it only in part of the dough.
