Required products :

  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 tea cup of water
  • 2 proteins
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 1 1/2 tea cups roasted nuts / almonds, walnuts, pistachios /
  • powdered sugar

Method of preparation :

  • Mix the sugar, corn syrup, salt and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook the syrup until it thickens and a drop of it hardens on a smooth surface without spilling.
  • In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with a mixer on high speed.
  • Add 1/4 of the sugar syrup and turn on the mixer again.
  • Return the pan to the hob and cook the remaining syrup for another 6-7 minutes to thicken a little more.
  • Add it to the egg whites and carefully beat the mixture.
  • Add the cardamom, butter and nuts and stir to distribute evenly.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased and floured rectangular pan.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and store in a cool place for 12 hours.
  • Cut the sugar cake into small squares and shape the sweets with your palms.
  • Roll the buttermilk in powdered sugar, shake off the excess, arrange on a plate and serve.
