Learn how to cook "Cake with pieces of melon and lemon jelly". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 1 kg of melon
  • 200 grams of butter
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 200 grams of flour
  • 700 milliliters of water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 lemon
  • 25 grams of gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • turmeric to taste

Method of preparation :

Beat the softened butter with the sugar and add the eggs one by one, without interrupting the process.

Sift the flour, pour in the baking powder and combine with the butter mass.

Put the dough in a detachable form, which you have previously covered with parchment.

Arrange melon slices on the surface, about 2 centimeters apart.

Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 25-35 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the jelly.

Put the grated lemon peel, pieces of melon in the water (you can use the unsweetened fruit slices) and sweeten to taste.

Boil the syrup for 30-40 minutes, and for a more saturated yellow color, add a little turmeric.

Strain the liquid and let it cool to about 60 degrees. Dissolve gelatin in it and leave to cool for a while.

Once the baked bread has cooled, release it from the ring and cover it with 2-3 layers of aluminum foil to cover it on all sides and on top.

Put the ring back, it will fix the cover, which should be 3-4 inches higher than the swamp.

Arrange pieces of melon on the surface, then gradually and literally on a spoon start pouring the fruit syrup with gelatin.

When finished, put the cake in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours.

Enjoy your meal!
