Required products :

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 cup golden syrup
  • 2 teaspoons raw pistachios (or other nuts of your choice)

Method of preparation :

Prepare all products.

Grease a rectangular pan with grease of your choice and line the pan with paper, which is also lightly greased.

Combine the vanilla and baking powder in a small bowl and set aside.

Put the butter, water, sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan and heat on the hob until the ingredients are melted and combined.

Measure with a pastry thermometer and when the temperature reaches 140 degrees, add the pistachios to the mixture. Stir and wait for it to heat up again to 138 degrees.

Remove from the heat and pour in the vanilla and baking powder. Stir and pour into the prepared pan.

Flatten and allow to cool for 10-20 minutes.

Break the bars and wait for them to cool completely. Store in a tightly closed box, wrapping each piece in a separate baking paper.

You can consume the dessert for up to 1 month.
