Necessary products:

  • 100 grams of walnuts
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 20 grams of butter

Method of preparation:

Slightly dry the walnuts, divided in half, in a dry pan or oven (for 10 minutes). Once cooled, break into quarters and remove the dark coating with your hands (if it makes the walnuts bitter).

Mix the sugar, water and lemon juice in a pan, put on the stove and, stirring constantly, add the butter and melt it. Stir until golden caramel is obtained.

Then pour the walnuts in it, stir quickly and pour into a separate bowl, the bottom of which you have previously lined with baking paper. Wait until the caramel cools down a bit, but not completely, and separate the nuts from each other.

You can make caramel without butter, but then it will turn out hard. With butter it becomes softer and tastier.

Enjoy your meal!
