Required products :

  • 4 slices of bacon - halved
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic - cut into slices
  • 200 grams of spinach - chopped
  • 200 grams of wholemeal bread - cut into cubes
  • 3/4 cup Gruyere cheese
  • 3/4 cup low-fat milk
  • 2/4 tea cup of yogurt
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 2 proteins
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method of preparation :

Fry the bacon in a pan until crispy - about 6 minutes. Transfer it to kitchen paper to remove excess fat from it. Keep 1 1/2 tablespoons of the fat in the pan and pour the rest.

Cut the bacon into small pieces and set it aside.

Put onions and garlic in the pan and fry until browned - about 10 minutes. Add the spinach and cook for about 2 minutes.

In a deep greased pan, place the bread, bacon, cheese and onion.

Mix fresh and yogurt, eggs, egg whites, mustard, salt and pepper in a bowl. Pour the resulting mixture over the bread mixture. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Meanwhile, remove the pan from the refrigerator to warm to room temperature while the oven warms up.

Bake until the dish is browned - about 1 hour. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
