Required products :

  • 300 milliliters of dry white wine
  • 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch or sauce thickener
  • pinch of ground red pepper
  • 300 grams of Gruyere cheese
  • 100 milliliters of cherry brandy (Kirsch)
  • 600 grams of white bread
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 3 pinches ground black pepper
  • 300 grams of Swiss cheese Vasherin
  • 1 large clove of garlic

Method of preparation :

Cut the garlic clove lengthwise into several thin slices, rubbing the inside of the bottom and walls of the special ceramic dish. Place it on the hob and heat, turning it to above average temperature.

Grate the cheeses and pour them into the bowl.

They will gradually melt. Pour the wine and stir.

Cut the bread into squares.

Add the starch or sauce thickener to the melted cheeses and cook, stirring constantly.

When the mixture becomes homogeneous, pour the brandy (you can use more than the specified amount). Forge.

Stir. Once the sauce has the consistency of the picture, transfer the pan to the burner. A cheese crust should form at the bottom.

The fondue is served in the dish in which you cooked, on the burner. It is consumed with chunks of white bread (with more crust on them), which are dipped in the sauce with the help of forks with long handles. The utensils are not licked, and the food is carefully separated from them only with the lips.

Have a good time!
