Required products :

300 grams of cheddar cheese

3 teaspoons vegetable or chicken broth

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons oil

2 tablespoons butter

1 stalk of celery

1 onion

2 thick slices of bread

2 cloves garlic

a little bacon or ham (30 grams)

4 tablespoons flour

300 milliliters of beer

1 cup sour cream

 

Method of preparation :

Pour the broth into a saucepan and put on high heat, add salt and pepper. When it boils, reduce the temperature.

Mix the oil and butter in a separate bowl, heat and fry the finely chopped celery and onion.

Toast the bread.

Cut the bacon and add it to the onion, add 1 crushed garlic clove. Reduce heat.

Cut the second clove of garlic in half and rub the slices with it, then cut them into small cubes.

Add the flour to the onion mixture and stir. Pour some of the beer, stir, add a little more of it.

Remove the broth from the stove, pour 1/4 cup of beer into it, stir, pour another 1/4 cup. Put the pot on the fire again and pour the cream into it.

Bring the soup to a boil, remove from the heat, add the shredded cheese. Stir until dissolved.

Taste and, if necessary, season further.

Arrange the dish in suitable plates and serve with toasted bread.
