Necessary products:

  • 250 ml of warm milk
  • 3 tsp dry yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 150 grams of cheese
  • 75 g butter
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Sol
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup finely chopped ham (optional)
  • 1 egg white for spreading 
  • yellow cheese for sprinkling

Method of preparation:

Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk, add 1 cup of flour, mix well, pour the second and stir again. Leave the dough warm for an hour to rise.

Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Beat the butter with the sugar, salt and eggs (you can use a mixer). After an hour, add the egg mixture to the dough. Add the remaining flour and knead a firm dough. If you have decided to add ham, now is the time to include it, but cut it into small pieces. Leave to rise again for an hour. Then knead a little more and roll out a thin flat sheet of dough in the form of a circle. Place a cup in the middle and cut it into 4 pieces (without this under the cup). Cut each of the pieces into another 5. Remove the cup, you get a kind of "flower". Distribute the cheese on the "flower petals", not putting on each, but in one. Those that are without cheese, place on the parts on which you sprinkled it. Wrap the "petals" in spirals so that the filling does not fall. Roll one of them in a circle and place in the middle on the round part that remained under the cup. This will be the center of your cake. Roll the remaining "spirals" in the same way and arrange around it. Spread the whipped egg white on top and sprinkle with grated yellow cheese. Bake at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes.
