How To Cook Chicken Fillet With Apples And Cheese Sauce - Recipe

We don't know a person who doesn't like chicken fillet and cream sauce, but this recipe will definitely surprise you. The combination of sweet apple and the delicate taste of cheese and cream combined with chicken will captivate your senses.

Required products :

  • 6 pieces of chicken breast with skin
  • 75 grams of butter (plus a little more per serving)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 onions - chopped
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons coarse mustard
  • 2 sweet apples, peeled and cut into sticks
  • 110 grams of mushrooms - chopped
  • 250 ml chicken broth
  • 300 ml cider (apple)
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 250 ml full-fat cooking cream
  • 300 grams of cheddar cheese - grated
  • 6 whole baked potatoes
  • serving oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat a large skillet over high heat and add half the olive oil and butter. Fry the fillet (skin side down first) for 1-2 minutes on each side until browned.

Transfer to a deep pan and bake in the oven for 25 minutes until done.

Meanwhile, heat the remaining butter and olive oil in the pan. Saute onion for 4-5 minutes until soft. Add the flour and mustard and cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the apples and mushrooms, and after a minute pour the chicken broth. Stir to dissolve the flour in the liquid.

After boiling, pour the cider and wait for it to boil again, 2 minutes later reduce the heat and add the cream and sage. Stew for 5-6 minutes and season with salt and pepper.

Drizzle the chicken with the sauce so that it is completely covered with it. Sprinkle with grated cheddar and leave only on the top rack for 4-5 minutes until the cheese is browned. When serving, put a spoonful of butter on warm potatoes, and serve with chicken fillet and sauce.

All you have to do is enjoy the delicious dish with a glass of white wine.
