How To Cook Chicken Legs With Onion And Bacon In White Wine Sauce - Recipe

Required products :

  • 150 grams of diced bacon
  • 1/2 tea cup flour / maybe wholemeal /
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 kg of chicken legs / only the upper part /
  • 1-2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 onions, cut into thin slices
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon chicken broth
  • fresh parsley for sprinkling

Method of preparation :

 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and bake the bacon for about 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer with a slotted spoon to kitchen paper to drain off excess fat and remove the pan from the heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour with the salt, pepper and thyme.
  • Dry the chicken legs, roll them in the mixture and gently shake off the excess.
  • Add the oil to the same pan in which you cooked the bacon and heat it again over medium heat.
  • Fry the legs for a few minutes on each side until golden brown, then transfer them to a plate.
  • Saute the onion in the same fat for 5-10 minutes until it softens and acquires a golden brown color.
  • Slowly pour the wine into the pan and stir well to remove all the sauces from the bottom and walls.
  • Add the chicken broth and cook for 5-10 minutes until the liquid is slightly reduced.
  • Distribute the chicken legs in the pan, add the bacon and bake for about 40 minutes in a preheated oven to 200 degrees. Drizzle the meat with the sauce every 15 minutes.
  • Serve warm, sprinkled with fresh parsley.

Note!

If the pan is not suitable for use in the oven, pour the sauce into a small pan, arrange the legs and bacon on top and bake .
