  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or cumin (optional, what flavor would you like in the dish)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric or curry powder
  • 1/2 cup white rice - long grain
  • 1 can of 400 grams of white or black beans / chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit - blueberries, raisins or cherries
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tea cup green spice - parsley, dill, basil, coriander and more.

Method of preparation :

Rub salt and pepper into the legs.

Heat the fat in a pan and fry the meat on both sides until browned - for about 10 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

Put onion and spices in the pan, after they release their aroma, add the rice. Pour 1 1/4 tea cups of hot water, scraping off any leftover meat on the bottom. Add beans, dried fruits and salt.

Return the meat to the pan and wait for the liquid to boil. Cover with a lid and reduce the heat, simmer until the rice is ready - about 20-30 minutes.

Remove from the heat and wait 5 minutes.
