Season the meat with salt and pepper.
Heat the fat and fry the onion, seasoned with salt, for about 15 minutes until golden. Add the garlic and stir often. When browned at the edges, remove from the heat and transfer the onions and garlic to a bowl, keeping them for serving.
Return the pan to the hob and place the lentils, sprinkle with turmeric and stir several times until you smell the spice.
Put the legs and pour 6 glasses of water. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Boil the soup on medium heat until the meat is ready - about 30 minutes.
When done, take it out of the soup and bone it.
Return the meat pieces to the soup, add the parsley and remove from the heat. Pour the lemon juice.
Serve the soup with a spoonful of yogurt and sprinkle with fried onions and garlic.
