Required products :

  • 3-4 chicken legs (bottom)
  • 3-4 tablespoons pearl barley
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 2 potatoes
  • 2-2.5 liters of water
  • salt and pepper (black)

Method of preparation :

Wash the legs, dry them, put them in a saucepan and fill them with water (cold). Add half an onion (just peeled, without chopping). Put on medium heat and let the liquid boil. Remove the foam that forms using a slotted spoon and immediately reduce the temperature of the hob. Boil the broth for about 30 minutes.

Fill the pearl barley with water, let it stand in it for a while, then drain it and rinse the berries several times.

Remove the chicken from the liquid and leave to cool, and strain the broth through a fine sieve.

Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, put in the broth and place the dish on the stove. Five minutes later, pour the barley into the same pot.

Cut the remaining half of the onion, grate the carrot and fry them together in oil.

Bone the meat, chop it coarsely and add to the pot with the vegetables. Stir and after 1-2 minutes pour the broth into the bowl, season.

Close the container with a lid and let the dish rest for 10 minutes before distributing on a plate and serving.

Enjoy your meal!
