Required products :

  • 3 1/2 teaspoons chickpeas, boiled or canned
  • 1/3 tea cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons breadcrumbs
  • frying oil

For garnish :

  • lettuce
  • milk sauce

Method of preparation :

  • Mix chickpeas, parsley, eggs, cumin, garlic, salt and red pepper in a blender.
  • Mash briefly enough to chop the chickpeas and mix with the other ingredients. Do not overdo it, as otherwise you will make hummus.
  • Pour the mixture into a deep bowl and add the breadcrumbs. Stir with a fork to distribute evenly.
  • Form each meatball from 1/4 tea cup of the mixture.
  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the meatballs for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. If you find that they turn brown too quickly, reduce the power of the hob.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer them from the pan to kitchen paper to drain off excess fat.
  • Serve the chickpea meatballs on a bed of lettuce, garnished with milk sauce.

Enjoy your meal!
