Required products :

  • 150 grams of chickpeas
  • 4 tablespoons salt crystals
  • 1 pinch of saffron
  • 700 grams of cod fillet
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 red hot peppers
  • 4 sausages chorizo
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 200 milliliters of chicken broth
  • 400 grams of chopped canned tomatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 200 grams of spinach

Method of preparation :

Soak chickpeas in water overnight and then boil it. Allow to cool in the water in which you boiled it.

Crush the salt into crystals and mix it with the saffron. Stretch a sheet of cling film on the kitchen counter and place half of the spices on it. Place the cod fish on top and sprinkle with the remaining mixture of salt and saffron. Wrap the fish tightly and place it in the refrigerator for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Fry onions in olive oil. Add the garlic and finely chopped hot pepper and cook for 6-8 minutes until the onion is soft.

Cut the chorizo ​​into pieces and add it to the vegetables and cook for another 5 minutes. Add the spices - cumin, red pepper, bay leaf and cinnamon, stew for another 3-4 minutes.

Preheat oven to 170 degrees. Transfer the chickpeas to a suitable bowl, add the chicken broth and canned tomatoes. Add the fried chorizo, onion and spices. Bring to a boil on the stove and transfer to the oven to bake for 45 minutes.

After removing it, season with salt and pepper.

Wash the fish under running water and place it on the chickpeas without covering them. Bake for another 10-12 minutes until the fillet is cooked through.

Transfer the fish to a large serving platter. Add the spinach to the hot dish and stir, the leaves will cook very quickly.

Remove the bay leaf and cinnamon stick.

Transfer the dish to the plateau, arranging it around the fish.
