Drain the chickpea liquid and pour the beans into a thick-walled saucepan. Add the butter, crushed garlic, put on low heat and let the mixture cook for 5 minutes, during which stir.
Then add the tomato puree (or use tomato juice, but pour more than the specified amount for the puree), lemon juice, finely chopped onion, bay leaf and oregano. Pour all the hot broth (maybe equal parts water and white wine or just water) and cook until the liquid is reduced three times and the sauce thickens.
Before turning off the stove, put the sliced black olives, the amount of which depends on your preferences.
The dish is ready. It is delicious both hot and cold, if you wait for it to cool down at all :)
