Required products :

  • 870 grams of butter
  • 170 grams of sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 370 grams of flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 200 grams of bitter chocolate
  • 350 grams of powdered sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 130 grams of apricot jam
  • 250 grams of chocolate glaze

Method of preparation :

Beat 370 grams of butter with 3/4 of the sugar, add the vanilla sugar, beat until foamy.

Separate the yolks from the whites. Gradually add 2 egg yolks and 2 whole eggs to the butter mixture.

Mix the flour with the baking powder and cocoa, gradually add to the other products.

Finally, add the remaining sugar and whipped egg whites.

Divide the dough into 7 parts, bake them sequentially in a detachable form, the bottom of which you have previously covered with baking paper. If the oven is preheated to 175 degrees, it takes about 8 minutes for each loaf.

While the finished countertops are cooling on a wire rack, start making the cream.

Break the chocolate into pieces and melt in a water bath.

Beat the remaining 500 grams of butter, gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and egg yolks, stirring constantly. The mixture should foam well.

Finally, add the warm but not hot melted chocolate.

Spread the cream on 6 of the cooled countertops and arrange them on top of each other. Place the seventh on top and spread it with apricot jam and wait a while for it to soak into the surface a bit.

Drizzle the cake with the chocolate icing and decorate with cream if you have any left.

Enjoy your meal!
