Necessary products

For sponge cake:

  • 10 tablespoons butter at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • 1 3/4 high quality flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 tea cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/4 tea cups buttermilk or yogurt

For the flan:

  • 360 milliliters of concentrated milk
  • 420 milliliters of sweetened condensed milk
  • 110 grams of cream cheese at room temperature
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • soft butter to spread the form
  • 1/4 tea cup caramel sauce

About the topping:

1/4 tea cup caramel sauce
1/4 tea cup chopped walnuts

Method of preparation :

Coat the walls and bottom of the cake pan with a little butter and pour 1/4 cup of caramel sauce, then place in another larger pan (this is necessary because the dessert will be prepared in a water bath).

The sponge cake

Mix the butter and sugar in a bowl, beat until lightly textured and then add the egg.

Sift the flour together with the baking powder, baking soda and cocoa.

Combine 1/3 of the dry mixture with half of the buttermilk / yogurt and butter, sugar and egg cream. Continue to add the rest of the products, adding flour last. Stir until smooth.

The flank

In a blender, mix the condensed and concentrated milk, cream cheese, eggs and vanilla extract. Beat for 30 seconds at high speed.

Spread the dough evenly on the bottom of the prepared cake tin and slowly pour the flan on it. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and pour hot water into the larger pan.

Place in the oven for an hour. The surface should be firm to the touch and the dough should not remain on a toothpick. Remove the form from the water tray and allow the dessert to cool for one hour at room temperature.

Then place a flat plate or other suitable serving dish on the cake tin, press the edges tightly together, shake gently and turn the cake over on the tray.

Decorate the dessert with nuts and enjoy.

Enjoy!
