Learn how to cook "Chocolate strudel with apples, cornflakes and walnuts". Delicious recipe.

Necessary products

For the dough:

  • 250 grams of flour
  • 100 grams of butter
  • 2 tablespoons (topped) cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water (cold)
  • 1 egg

For the stuffing:

  • 4 large apples
  • 150 grams of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons walnuts (or other nuts)
  • 50 grams of cornflakes
  • 150 grams of butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • oil to spread the form

For serving:

  • powdered sugar
  • chocolate syrup
  • ice cream

Method of preparation :

In a deep bowl, mix the flour with the cocoa and sugar, add the softened butter, the egg and knead the dough. Pour the water, it may be necessary more or less than the specified amount (depending on the quality of the flour and the size of the egg). The dough should become elastic and soft like plasticine, not stick to your hands. Wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for half an hour.

Meanwhile, make the strudel filling.

It is good to use healthy and juicy apples, you can replace brown sugar with plain sugar and walnuts with other nuts of your choice.

Peel the fruit, remove the core with the seeds, cut the rest into thin slices.

Melt the butter in a pan, pour in the coarsely ground or chopped walnuts. Fry them lightly and add the apples, sugar and stir. The temperature of the hob should be medium, stir periodically.

Finally, add the cornflakes, mix it with the other products, sprinkle with cinnamon (and vanilla if desired). The time required to cook the filling is about 10 minutes, until the sweet crystals dissolve and the fruit slices soften a little.

Then take the dough out of the fridge, roll it out thinly, making a large sheet. Spread and flatten the delicious filling on it. Leave the edges of the dough uncovered to make it easier to shape the strudel.

Roll up a tight roll, taking care that the filling does not leak and that the base does not break. Thoroughly transfer to a greased pan and bake for about 40-45 minutes at 180 degrees.

When the finished strudel has cooled in the form, transfer it to a flat plate, cut into pieces, sprinkle with powdered sugar, pour chocolate sauce or serve a ball of your favorite ice cream.

Have a good time!
