Learn how to cook "Christmas bread with raisins, nuts, sesame seeds and cognac". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

1 tablespoon dry yeast

3/4 tea cup of warm water

800 grams of wheat flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 tea cup vegetable oil

3/4 tea glass of warm red wine

6 tablespoons chopped walnuts

3 tablespoons pine nuts

6 tablespoons raisins without seeds

2 tablespoons chopped pistachios

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg

grated peel of 1 orange

4 tablespoons orange juice

4 tablespoons granulated sugar

4 tablespoons cognac

2 tablespoons fresh milk

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

1 peeled whole walnut

Method of preparation :

Dissolve the yeast in half of the warm water and leave for 30 minutes. Sift the flour directly on the kitchen counter (or table), forming a pile, in the center of which make a recess. Pour in the yeast, the remaining water, 3 tablespoons of oil, wine, salt and knead the dough. Shape it into a ball, cover with a towel and leave for 1-2 hours. Roast the walnuts and pine nuts in a dry pan until golden. In a separate bowl, combine the raisins, pistachios, nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel and juice, sugar and cognac. Knead the dough well, add the contents of the bowl to it, stir, cover again with a towel and leave for 30 minutes.

Grease the baking tin with oil and put the dough in it, leveling the surface, but before that set aside a small part of it. You will need it to make a cross, which you place on the dough in the pan, and put the whole peeled walnut in the middle. Spread the bread with fresh milk (use a brush), sprinkle with sesame seeds, cover with a towel and wait half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 230 degrees and bake for 10 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 200 degrees and let the baking continue until ready (about 25 - 30 minutes). If you see that the surface will burn, cover with foil.

Enjoy your meal!
