Required products :

  • 1 turkey weighing about 5 kilograms
  • 2 teaspoons rice
  • 300 grams of chopped mushrooms
  • 1 - 2 onions
  • 4 apples

For the marinade:

  • 500 grams of sour cream (or natural yogurt)
  • 4-5 cloves crushed with a garlic press
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • other spices of your choice and taste

Method of preparation :

Make a sauce from the cream, garlic and selected spices. Spread it on the turkey and put it in the refrigerator for 10 - 12 hours.

Boil the rice until ready, fry together the chopped mushrooms and onions, wash the apples, peel and cut into large pieces. Mix all the products and with the resulting filling fill the marinated turkey not very tightly, sew it. Then grease with oil, put in a deep form and pour a little water or broth. Punch the surface with a toothpick.

Place in the oven, cover with foil and bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees and let the dish bake for another 2.5 - 3 hours.

Baking time is determined as follows: 45 minutes per kilogram + 30 additional minutes. Every 20 minutes, pierce the turkey with a fork on the breasts and thighs and pour the fat that is released.

30 - 40 minutes before the turkey is completely ready, remove the foil so that the dish can be baked and an appetizing crust is formed.

Enjoy your meal!
