Required products :

for marinating:

  • 12 teaspoons of water
  • 1/4 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 fresh tarragon stalks
  • 1 tablespoon spice "old bay"
  • 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf

for the cocktail sauce:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 tea cup hot chili sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon horseradish paste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcester sauce
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 kg of large shrimp, cleaned

Method of preparation :

Boil the water, onion, lemon, garlic, tarragon, spice, black pepper and bay leaf for 15 minutes.

Mix the sauce products and cool for 15 minutes.

Put the shrimp in boiling water and cook for 5 minutes until pink.

Transfer them to ice-cold water as soon as you remove them from the liquid. Drain and serve with cold sauce.
