Necessary products

For the dough:

1 kg of flour

2 eggs

150 grams of butter

200 grams of sour cream

1 - 2 tea cups of fresh milk

1/2 teaspoon yeast

For the stuffing:

500 grams of granulated sugar + 500 grams of coconut shavings

500 grams of melted butter

For the syrup:

500 milliliters of water

500 grams of sugar

lemon juice

nuts of your choice for decoration

Method of preparation :

In a bowl, mix the eggs with the cream, butter, add the yeast, which you previously dissolved in milk. Gradually add the flour and knead the dough, which you divide into several parts (9 or 12, for example).

Roll each of them thinly, spread with butter (preferably melted), followed by stuffing made from sugar and coconut shavings. Arrange the layers on top of each other in a tray whose bottom is covered with greaseproof baking paper. Make the first and last layer thicker so that they do not burn during baking. Cut the baklava into pieces, put half or one nut of your choice in the middle.

Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, covering with paper.

When you remove the cooled dough, smear the surface with egg yolk, pour plenty of melted butter.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place the sweet pie to bake for about 20-30 minutes. Once baked, remove, pour oil once more, let it soak.

Make syrup from water and sugar, add a little lemon juice. Pour the finished baklava and leave overnight to be well syruped.

Enjoy your meal!
