Required products :

  • 1 kg of bacon
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves
  • 5 - 7 grains of allspice

 

Method of preparation :

Wash the piece of bacon well, scrape the skin with a knife.

Carrots cut into thin straws, peel the garlic.

Make incisions on the surface of the bacon and put garlic and pieces of carrot in them.

Sprinkle the surface with salt and pepper.

Then fold the piece of bacon, let the side with the skin remain on top. Tie with thick thread.

Put the bacon in a saucepan and pour water, it should be completely covered. Bring to a boil over high heat, add the whole onion, bay leaves, allspice, salt and cloves.

Reduce the temperature and simmer for 2.5 hours.

Remove the prepared bacon from the water, press with some weight and leave to cool.

When this happens, you can untie.

Cut into pieces and serve.
