Required products :

  • 330 milliliters of whole cream
  • 160 milliliters of low-fat milk
  • 50 grams of sugar + extra for caramelization
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 large yolks
  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder
  • 2 teaspoons Kalua or other aromatic liqueur

Method of preparation :

  • Heat the cream, milk, sugar and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar is completely melted.
  • In another bowl, beat the yolks.
  • Add the warm mixture in a thin stream, beating on medium speed.
  • Add the espresso powder, stir and strain the mixture.
  • Add the liqueur and stir again.
  • Distribute the mixture in fireproof bowls and place them in a tray with water, which should reach the middle of their walls.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 150 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.
  • Allow the cream to cool completely, cover it with foil and store in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Sprinkle creme brulee with caramelized sugar and, if desired, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate nuts.
