Required products :

  • 1.5 teaspoons sugar
  • 50 milliliters of oil
  • 100 grams of melted butter
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 100 milliliters of water
  • 150 grams of crackling corn

Method of preparation :

Pour the oil into a tall saucepan, heat it well. Then pour the corn kernels and distribute them evenly on the bottom of the container, which you immediately close with a lid (heavy enough). Allow the popcorn to cook until it stops "popping". Then shake the pot, wait a minute or two after removing from the heat and pour the popcorn into a bowl greased with oil (this is done so that the caramel does not stick to the walls and bottom).

Start making caramel. In another clean saucepan, mix the butter, sugar, water and salt. Put on the fire and let the mixture boil. The sugar must be completely dissolved. Stir periodically to avoid tightening the caramel. If there are any remaining sugar crystals on the walls of the dish, remove them with a brush, because they are unnecessary and will only damage the color and texture of the caramel.

The approximate time to prepare the sweet mixture is 15 minutes. Do not leave it unattended and watch for color. Be careful not to get burned.

Prepare two spatulas and grease with oil. You will mix popcorn and caramel with them. Grease a large pan or saucepan. Pour the popcorn into the bowl of your choice. Remove the caramel from the heat and immediately pour it over it. Stir with spatulas so that the popcorn is evenly covered and does not stick to each other.

Then pour into a pan and place in a low heat oven for 20-30 minutes or wait until the caramel has hardened completely.
