Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease the bottom and sides of the pan.
Pour the butter, flour and powdered sugar into a bowl and with the help of two knives stir the mixture, cutting the butter until you get butter crumbs. Spread the mixture evenly in the pan and press on the bottom. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges start to brown.

Beat the eggs, lemon juice, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl with a mixer on medium speed until creamy. Pour the filling over the hot base. Return to the oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until done.
Cool completely before decorating with the glaze.

In a small bowl, beat the butter with the powdered sugar with a mixer on low speed until homogenous. Add the lemon juice and zest and beat on high speed until smooth. Spread the icing on the dessert and cut into pieces. Serve the lemon bars chilled or at room temperature.
