Required products :

  • 1 teaspoon rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1.5 tablespoons dry yellow peas
  • 1.5 tablespoons cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder if desired
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • salt to taste
  • frying oil

Method of preparation :

Soak the peas (in water) for an hour or as needed to soften. Pour the water into a saucepan, add salt, a spoonful of oil and softened peas. Put on the stove - if the peas are soft enough, it is enough for the contents of the pot to just boil, but if not - cook for a while. Then add the rice flour directly to the hot water with the peas, immediately turn off the heat and mix everything thoroughly. Close the container with a lid and leave in a cool place to cool. When this happens, add the chili, cumin, sesame seeds to the mixture and knead the dough (it turns out smoothly, does not stick to the hands and retains its shape). Tear small balls out of it, which you form as "sticks", "rolling" between your palms. Then make wheels from the sticks. Fry them in hot oil on both sides until golden.
