How To Cook Dakos (Greek Salad Appetizer On Toast) - Recipe

Required products :

1 homemade bread, cut into slices 1 cm thick
1 teaspoon of olive oil + a little more to spread bread
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill + a little to sprinkle
1-2 small cucumbers (first cut them into quarters, then into cubes with a side of 1 cm)
2 tomatoes (variety Buffalo heart), cut into cubes with a side of 1 cm
1 head of red lettuce, cut into thin semicircles
340 grams of shredded feta cheese
1 tbsp. capers
olive oil and pickled hot peppers to serve

Method of preparation :

Coat the slices with olive oil on both sides, sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper to taste, then grill.
Remove the bread to a plate and let stand for a while at room temperature until it hardens slightly.
Meanwhile, beat 1 cup of olive oil with lemon juice and dill in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, capers, cheese into this mixture and let the combination stand for 30 minutes.
Then spread it on the slices and serve immediately with olive oil and hot pepper.
